About the event
In academic practice, regular one-to-one meetings are often reduced to a quick check-up on the status of projects or the solving of urgent problems. Yet an effectively conducted one-to-one conversation is the most powerful tool for preventing burnout, building trust and guiding researchers and PhD students. At our workshop, which takes place as part of the Leadership Bites series, you will learn how to turn these meetings into a regular ritual that doesn’t take up your time, but actually saves it.
What you will learn:
- What does a proven 1:1 meeting structure look like that will work even in a hectic academic environment?
- How to ask the right questions and broach even uncomfortable or sensitive topics
- How to shift 1:1 meetings from task checks to developing team members’ potential and sense of responsibility
