Description
This interactive webinar introduces practical HR principles tailored to recruitment in a research environment. It focuses on how to approach hiring strategically – not as a formal project obligation, but as a meaningful step towards stronger research performance and team effectiveness.
Recruitment in science is not only about publications and expertise. It is about clearly defined goals, well-structured roles and the ability to identify real competencies beyond first impressions.
What you will learn
- Why clarity of purpose is the foundation of meaningful recruitment
- How to clarify roles and responsibilities before you open a position
- What HR will typically ask during a preparation meeting and how to manage the process if you do not have HR support
- Introduction to competencies: why strong CVs and great publications are not enough
- How to structure interview questions to analyse competencies instead of collecting impressions
- How to translate competencies into measurable indicators rather than vague feelings
The session is practical and interactive. Participants will actively work with their own hiring situations and reflect on real recruitment challenges from scientific environments. Please be prepared to keep your cameras on and microphones ready, and have paper and pen available for practical exercises.
The webinar takes place on March 26, 9:30 – 11:30 and will be held online (via MS Teams). The capacity is limited to 30 participants to ensure an interactive format.
The webinar is FULLY BOOKED at the moment, but you can still register on the WAITING LIST. We’ll let you know if a spot opens up.
Please note: The number of spots for this webinar is limited. If you find out you can’t join, please let us know as soon as possible at kozakova@star-cluster.cz so we can offer your place to another participant. Thank you for your consideration.
