About the event
How can you talk about mistakes in a way that leads to a solution rather than a defensive reaction?
How can you guide your team members toward greater independence and responsibility?
How can you give feedback that is truly helpful?
And what can coaching do for you?
Join us for the next networking meetup in our Leadership Bites series, where we’ll explore answers (not only) to these questions together. This event will take place on Tuesday, May 12, in collaboration with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) as part of International Coaching Week.
Working in science is demanding. A coaching approach can help address challenges such as communication issues, difficulties with delegating tasks, or high self-expectations. At this inspiring session, Marie Feřtrová and Eva Rybková (ICF-certified coaches) will introduce you to coaching and show you how communication can influence the team atmosphere and the search for solutions.
During the session, you will try out several simple coaching principles through realistic scenarios from academic and research settings – for example, when providing feedback, dealing with mistakes, or guiding colleagues toward greater independence and responsibility for their own results.
The programme combines a short interactive lecture, practical exercises, sharing experiences with other participants, and networking.
What you will gain from the session:
- A better understanding of what coaching is and how it differs from mentoring or consulting
- Inspiration on how a coaching approach can help in research work or team leadership
- Specific tips on how to conduct difficult conversations and provide feedback with greater empathy
- Hands-on experience with questions and simple coaching techniques that promote independence and solution-finding
- Examples of best practices in using coaching with researchers and research teams
- New contacts and the opportunity to share experiences with colleagues from the research community
After the main programme, enjoy informal networking. You can also book a 30-minute individual coaching session with professional coaches. These sessions will take place on-site in reserved meeting rooms immediately after the programme and are available by prior reservation.
The event is FULLY BOOKED at the moment, but you can still register on the WAITING LIST. We’ll let you know if a spot opens up.
